A TMS evaluation scorecard records how each platform handles the same source content, language resources and review decisions. Use this free template to define a fair pilot before comparing proposals or committing to a migration.
Use it when comparing Vitra TMS with another platform, adding a TMS to an existing workflow or checking whether a translation-only tool is enough. The template contains no vendor ratings or presumed winner.
Compare a real job, not two feature lists
The sample pilot includes an article, an app label and a campaign design. Use the same approved glossary, source versions and reviewers for each candidate. Record observed evidence instead of scoring a marketing claim.
Make it your own
Edit the worked example. These fields are processed in your browser and are not sent to a Vitra server. Page analytics, if enabled, are separate.
Pick a small set that represents your real work.
A fair comparison uses the same starting information.
Separate a system's suggestion from a reviewer's release decision.
A connector name does not prove that every needed operation is supported.
Use current quotes and documented policies, not assumed prices or certifications.
Mark not tested rather than assigning a score to an unobserved capability.
Your handoff, ready to edit
Keep the decisions together.
Pilot assets and target locales
One setup article, ten app labels and one editable campaign design. Test en-US to es-MX. Keep the source versions identical for each candidate.
Context and language resources
Provide the same product brief, approved glossary and style guide. Test an ambiguous label and a protected product name.
Language and review evidence
Have the same reviewers record meaning, terminology, layout issues and the steps needed to correct them. Count rework, not only draft speed.
Handoffs, imports and exports
Record manual steps, file handling and whether the final exports are usable. Test the actual connector and import format required by the team.
Usage, access and commercial questions
Ask each candidate for the cost of this workload, relevant access controls, support scope and deployment options. Do not extrapolate a free pilot to a production bill.
Decision and unresolved questions
Record the candidate, observed result, reviewer notes and missing evidence. Leave the decision open until the team agrees on its essential requirements.

How to use the template well
Set acceptance criteria before the demo
A smooth demo can solve a different problem from your team's. Decide what must work: a preserved placeholder, an editable design, a specialist approval or a usable subtitle export. Record those requirements before seeing the vendor's preferred workflow.
Use evidence and not-tested labels
For each requirement, record passed, needs work, blocked or not tested, with a reference to the output. A score without that evidence makes the comparison look more precise than it is. Let the team choose weights only after agreeing which requirements matter.
Plan migration separately from the pilot
A small translation test does not prove that every memory, termbase or historical file will import cleanly. Ask about supported formats, map fields and validate a sample before migrating the full collection. Keep the old references available until the imported resources have been checked.
When the job repeats
Read the platform comparisons
Use the provider-specific pilot suggestions to test your shortlist. Compare the workflow you need rather than assuming one category fits every team.
No. It is an editable evaluation plan for your own pilot. It has no pre-filled vendor scores, prices or ratings and does not assume Vitra wins the comparison.
How many assets should a TMS pilot include?
Use a small representative set that exercises your important requirements. Include a difficult example, the relevant file formats and a review step. The right set depends on the work you expect the platform to handle.
