Vitra.ai ventures to speak in 75-plus tongues
The Hindu BusinessLine
The Hindu BusinessLine profiled Vitra.ai as an emerging entrepreneur story: a Bengaluru company transcribing a ten-minute video in about 30 seconds and adding voiceovers, dubbing and subtitles in under three minutes, across more than 75 languages and 50 enterprise customers.

The profile
Writing for The Hindu BusinessLine's Emerging Entrepreneurs series in October 2023, Isha Rautela opened with the benchmark that defines the product: a ten-minute video transcribed in about 30 seconds, then given voiceovers, dubbing and subtitles in under three minutes. The piece traced Vitra.ai from its 2020 founding to a platform handling video, image, podcast and text content across more than 75 languages, from Afrikaans to Arabic.
The origin story is an edtech one. The company set out to make educational content available in the language a learner actually thinks in, on the observation that anyone wanting to study blockchain, AI or quantum computing was effectively required to read English first. As co-founder and CEO Satvik Jagannath framed it, the founding constraint was that language should not be a barrier to learning.
The market it was aiming at
By the time of the profile the customer base had moved well beyond education into banking, insurance and other financial services, e-commerce and media, spanning around 50 large enterprises. The company was selling both a B2B platform and a self-serve drag-and-drop product for individual creators.
The article sized the global language translation market at 66 billion by 2025, and noted Vitra.ai had raised ₹4.25 crore to that point, backed by 100X.VC and Inflexor Ventures, while participating in the Google for Startups Accelerator programme in India.
Two ambitions stood out. The first was linguistic reach: a target of at least 100 supported languages within a year. The second was distribution, through integrations with large ecosystems, enterprise partnerships and conversations with state governments including Maharashtra and Rajasthan. Underneath both sits an argument about India's actual language geography, as Jagannath put it: of the country's top 50 cities, only a fraction are truly English-speaking, and Tier 2 markets are where spending power is growing fastest.
