Vitra.ai named in the AWS and Accel ML Elevate generative AI community

The programme

On 31 July 2023, Amazon Web Services and venture firm Accel announced ML Elevate 2023, a six-week accelerator aimed squarely at startups building generative AI applications. It was the first edition of the programme to focus exclusively on generative AI.

Participants got access to AI models and tooling, technical and business mentorship, the AWS Activate programme, and up to $200,000 in AWS credits, along with a dedicated demo week to pitch venture funds and angel investors. The announcement cited NASSCOM research showing Indian generative AI startups had raised over$475 million in private investment between January 2021 and May 2023.

Vitra.ai in the alumni community

ML Elevate has run since 2020 and has accelerated more than 50 early-stage AI/ML startups in India. In announcing the 2023 edition, AWS named Vitra.ai among the leading Indian AI startups in the programme's active community, alongside AarogyaAI, Dubdub.ai and NimbleBox.ai.

The relationship is not incidental to the product. Running video dubbing and image translation at enterprise volume is an inference-cost problem before it is anything else, and programmes like ML Elevate exist because the infrastructure economics are what decide whether a generative AI product can be sold at a sane price.
