The launch
At Bengaluru Tech Summit, Karnataka's Minister for IT/BT Priyank Kharge launched 35 products built by startups in the state, Vitra.ai's among them. Bengaluru Tech Summit is India's largest technology conference and the state government uses the product launch slot to showcase companies coming out of the Karnataka startup ecosystem.
Why the state angle matters
Karnataka's startup policy has been one of the more consequential pieces of industrial policy in Indian technology, and government showcase slots translate into procurement conversations. For a translation company, state and public sector interest is not incidental: government communication in India is a multilingual problem by constitutional design, and it is one of the clearest uses for website translation at scale.
Vitra.ai has since explored collaborations with several state governments on exactly that basis.
