> **Quick answer —** Most multi-market campaign failures come from a short list: untranslated image text, offers that do not apply locally, dates and currency, and legal text that differs by market.[Vitra.ai Universe](https://www.vitra.ai/platform) creates, translates, adapts and publishes from one place.

## Before anything is translated

**Confirm the offer applies.** A discount, a free trial length, a shipping threshold or a bundle may be unavailable or regulated differently in a target market. Translating an offer that cannot be honoured is worse than not running there.

**Check the claim.** Comparative claims, superlatives and health or financial language have different thresholds by market.

**Fix the terminology.** Product and feature names pinned in a [glossary](https://www.vitra.ai/general/translation-glossary-management) before the first asset, because retrofitting a term means re-approving everything containing it.

The first row is the one that reaches customers most often, because image text never appears in a translation workflow — it needs [image translation](https://www.vitra.ai/features/image-translation) rather than a copy pass.

## Data and formats

Dates in local order and never ambiguous numerics. Currency with the correct symbol placement and a plausible local price rather than a converted one. Decimal separators. Phone number formats. Address field order, if a form is involved.

None of these are translation problems and all of them arrive with translated campaigns.

## Legal and platform

Local disclosure requirements, which differ even between neighbouring markets. Cookie and consent language. Platform ad policies, which vary by country for regulated categories.

And an unsubscribe or contact route that works locally, in the local language.

## Before launch

Run every rendered asset through [quality control](https://www.vitra.ai/features/quality-control) rather than sampling, and have one native speaker per market look at the laid-out creative — not the copy in a spreadsheet, the actual asset as a customer sees it.

That last check is thirty minutes per market and catches the things no automated check can: the phrasing that is technically correct and reads oddly, and the image that means something different there. Health campaigns raise both at once — [public health campaign localization](https://www.vitra.ai/government/public-health-campaign-localization).

## FAQ

**What is the most common failure in multilingual campaigns?** Text left untranslated inside images. It never appears in a copy workflow because it is pixels, so a fully translated campaign still shows source-language headlines and size charts.

**What should be checked before translating campaign copy?** That the offer can actually be honoured locally, that claims meet local thresholds, and that terminology is pinned. Retrofitting a product name means re-approving every asset containing it.

**Which data formats cause problems in localized campaigns?** Dates, currency placement, decimal separators, phone formats and address field order. None are translation problems, but all of them arrive with translated campaigns.

**What final check is worth the time?** One native speaker per market looking at the laid-out creative rather than copy in a spreadsheet. It catches phrasing that is correct but odd, and imagery that reads differently locally.
