# Video Localization, Dubbing & Lip-Sync Guides

A translated script is only part of a localized video. The voice has to fit the speaker, the timing has to fit the edit, and the viewer still needs readable text and a clear message.

Learn it. Try it. Review it.

A clear path from question to finished work.

01

### Choose what the audience needs

Use subtitles when the original performance matters. Use a dub when listening is the main way to follow the content. Some releases need both.

02

### Prepare the voice and timing

Check permission to use a voice, agree on pronunciation and review a short representative scene before processing a whole library.

### Watch the finished video

A correct transcript does not prove a correct export. Watch for cut-off speech, mismatched mouths, unreadable captions and untranslated text in the frame.

A useful question

Should every translated video use lip-sync?

No. Lip-sync is most useful when a visible speaker needs to appear to speak the target language. Screen recordings, narrated slides and many training videos can work well with a reviewed voiceover and subtitles.
